“I was just blown away.”

You probably would be too if a world famous rock star just walked into your workplace.

For Adam Price, who was in the warehouse when he realized that Alice Cooper had wandered into his gothic shop, his reaction was to immediately run to see him at the register.

“I just ran out of the room and when I got on the stairs I thought, ‘Okay, I’ve got to calm down a bit,'” he said.

Cooper told them he was supposed to be on stage at the Utilita Arena shortly after stopping by Blue Banana in Birmingham, but he had some free time and wanted to check out the shops in town.

While not quite a case of School’s Out, the rock legend chatted with the staff, took selfies and even joked that he would use the resulting photos for his next album.

Mr Price added: “He told me I looked great and I completely forgot to say thank you because I was so overwhelmed by the fact that I was standing in front of Alice Cooper!”

Mr Price said the store had welcomed other celebrity shoppers in the past

During the visit in mid-October, Cooper bought some fingerless gloves and a hat and the manager said he was excited to see pictures of the star wearing the gloves at a concert in Manchester the following night.

Although not a regular occurrence, Blue Banana has seen the occasional celebrity visitor, often when they have shows in town, such as a recent visit to Come on Air.

But in Cooper’s case, Mr Price said that because his store sold “alternative” and “rock punk” clothes, they particularly suited Cooper’s taste.

“We told him to really enjoy himself while he’s here, go around town and just relax,” he added.
