A Wilmington neighborhood goes all out for Halloween and gives back to the community – WECT

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The neighborhood along Bayshore Drive in Wilmington attracts hundreds of trick-or-treaters with its over-the-top Halloween decorations.

The neighbors have an unspoken competition to have the biggest, spookiest, scariest haunted house on the block.

But one home in particular has people stopping by for their lavish decorations.

“I think it’s one of the most brilliant houses and the most haunted houses we’ve seen in the city,” said Uriel Santro, a visitor.

The house at 545 Aquarius Drive includes a walk-through tunnel, giant skeletons, an outdoor movie projector and grown-up drinks for the parents.

The home’s owners, Tony and Marie Kirchner, also chose to feature a charitable option for people to give back. They help the non-profit organization “Welcome Home Angel”, which cares for children with special health needs.

“They can choose to take all that money that people donate and give it to Halloween decorations, but they choose to give it back to people who are so selfless of them,” said Addison Brown, a con artist.

The Kirschners support the charity because they love helping children. They welcome anyone who stops by to check out both the charity and their spooky decorations.
