LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Rain and 70’s for us today and this weekend.
Chances of showers or sprinkles are slim this morning in our thicker cloud cover, but the biggest development is expected to the SW this evening. Some minor severe risk of hail up to one inch and wind gusts up to 60 mph. The biggest risk could be flash flooding, where heavy pockets of rain affect areas with particularly low drainage.
By Saturday morning, we’ll increase our rain chances significantly with widespread thunderstorms, some of which may have a slight severe risk. Continuing thunderstorms leave the area over the weekend.
Today, highs range in the 70s. Temperatures remain in the 70s over the weekend, but drop with slightly cooler air into the mid-60s for the work week.
