A Texas news station had to report its own anchor interrupting S – Newstalk1290

I really hope they get this woman back on the air just so she can cover all the updates on this….

A local news station in Texas had to break a story this week after their own anchor was arrested for breaking someone’s nose.

Her name is Heather Kovar. She has been a weekend anchor at KBTX in Bryan, Texas for a little over a year. If you’re not familiar with Bryan, it’s right next to College Station, where Texas A&M is.

Here is her photo:

They ran a story about it on Tuesday and didn’t give many details. But a rival news station revealed that the nose she broke belonged to her BOYFRIEND.

The two had been fighting at a Tex-Mex restaurant across from Heather’s apartment on Monday night, and she had apparently had a few margaritas. They then left and returned to her apartment where things got physical.

She allegedly punched her boyfriend in the face 12 times, bit him on the arm, scratched his other arm and barricaded himself in the bathroom.

Court documents say he ended up with a “bloodied, broken nose.” She is accused of domestic violence.

According to her bio:

Heather Kovar has returned to her home state of Texas to anchor KBTX’s Friday 5pm and weekend newscasts.

An award-winning anchor and reporter with more than 25 years of television news experience, Heather has worked around the world. She won an Emmy and a Murrow Award for her involvement and reporting on News 12 CT. She also worked in London for CBS News Newspath as a correspondent. Her other roles include KXAS in Dallas, WKTV in Utica, New York, Reuters Business News NYC, News 12 NY, KVUE in Austin and WRGB in Albany, New York, among others. She joined KBTX in May 2023.

Heather has won two New York Emmy Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award, numerous Associated Press Awards and other awards, including the Fairfield County Readers’ Poll “Best On-Air Personality” and “Best Blog,” Daily Gazette of Schenectady “Best Reporter/Columnist” ” and has also been featured in HERLIFE Magazine.
