LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Georgia Godfrey’s path took an unexpected turn when a serious illness forced her to leave her distinguished career in politics.
For nearly two decades, she has thrived in a fast-paced environment, but the challenges she faces push her to reassess her identity and purpose.
After moving to Lubbock and starting her own business, Godfrey realized that many women, regardless of their background, felt the need to have their voices heard. This insight led her to create Today’s Working Woman, a platform designed to foster community and support among women.
“I want to feel like I have a community. Every woman needs to feel like we’re not alone in these everyday issues, and also to have this kind of community where we feel like we can have these conversations and hopefully make a difference,” Godfrey said.
Through his platform, Godfrey aims to tackle key issues such as work-life balance, fair pay and the importance of setting boundaries.
By creating a supportive network, she hopes to empower women to navigate their careers with confidence and resilience.
Today’s Working Woman offers discussions and resources that allow women to connect and uplift one another. As Godfrey continues her mission, she is committed to ensuring that no woman feels alone in her struggles.
