Move the kids — this event at Knock Knock Children’s Museum is for adults.
Storybook Soirée: A Grown-Up Gala, presented by RoyOMartin, takes place from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m., Thursday, November 7, at the museum, 1900 Dalrymple Drive, Baton Rouge.
The event is the museum’s primary fundraiser of the year, raising money for programs and initiatives including Access for All and Play for All, as well as programs and improvements to the facility’s 18 learning areas and large backyard.
This year’s theme is The Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Andersen’s favorite children’s book.
Gala attire is cocktail attire or a suit.
“Let your creativity flow in a mermaid-inspired cocktail or as ocean adventure-inspired sea creatures, royal mermen, sea witches or castaways on land,” a news release said.
Grammy nominees Rockin’ Dopsie & The Zydeco Twisters will perform. There will also be food from Baton Rouge’s best restaurants, an open bar, rum tasting from the award-winning Oxbow Rum Distillery, and live and silent auction items.
