HIALEAH, Fla. (CBS12) – A Miami-Dade County man won $1 million playing a $5 scratch game.
The Florida Lottery announced Friday that Miguel Villavicencio claimed a $1 million prize after playing the Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off game.
Lottery officials said Villavicencio bought his ticket at Las Cuatro Hermanas Supermarket at 810 East 41st Street in Hialeah. With a 1 in 3.98 chance of winning, Villavicencio walked away with the big prize.
Villavicencio chose to receive his winnings as a lump sum, lump sum payment of $685,000. In addition, the retailer received a bonus commission of $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.
