LPD: Body of 21-year-old man found in car marks city’s 5th homicide of the year – KGNS

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Laredo police on Monday morning identified the city’s fifth homicide victim as 21-year-old Marco Antonio Viera. The police department said detectives have already interviewed persons of interest and other witnesses. No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.

The body of a 21-year-old man was found in a car in south Laredo, marking the city’s fifth homicide of the year, according to Laredo police.

The incident happened around midnight on Saturday at the intersection of Lomas Del Sur and South Ejido, after reports of gunshots in the area. Police said they found the man’s body in the driver’s seat of a black Toyota with gunshot wounds.

Authorities believe the shooting was not random and that the victim may have been targeted by someone he knew. The case is currently being investigated by CAPERS.
