Jennifer Lopez totally slammed former US President Donald Trump at a rally in Las Vegas while supporting Vice President Kamala Harris. JLo herself, a Puerto Rican American, has expressed her concerns about Trump’s handling of racial and gender issues, particularly his recent rally in Madison Square Garden.
“Trump has consistently worked to divide us,” Lopez said. “At Madison Square Garden, he reminded us who he really is and how he really feels. Puerto Ricans weren’t the only ones offended that day. It was every Latino in this country. It was humanity and anyone of decent character.
Lopez’s comments were aimed at podcaster and comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico a “trash island” during a Trump rally.

“I’m Puerto Rican and yes, I was born here and we’re American,” she declared to applause, adding, “I’m a mother. I am a sister. I am an actor and artist. I like Hollywood endings too. I like it when the good guy, and in this case, the good girl, wins.”
The Harris campaign worked to keep those inflammatory remarks in the public eye, using Hinchcliffe’s comments in campaign ads and garnering support from prominent celebrities, including LeBron James, who cited them in his own endorsements.
JLo Calls for Unity, Says ‘Your Voice and Your Voice Matters’
Earlier in the day, Puerto Rican-American icons Ricky Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Rita Moreno issued a joint post condemning Hinchcliffe’s remarks and defending Puerto Rico’s contributions. “You might be surprised who some people consider trash,” they wrote in response to Hinchcliffe’s comment.
During her 15-minute speech, Lopez became emotional, admitting, “We have to be emotional. We should be upset. We should be scared and outraged. We should – our pain matters. We matter. You matter. Your voice and your voice matter.
“When I started doing TV and film, I could get roles as a maid or a loud Latina, but I knew I had something to offer,” recalls the Atlast star. “And I think there’s a lot of people in this country who feel the same way, who know they’re capable of more, and we all just want a chance to prove it.” And elections are about electing leaders who support that, not leaders who get in the way.”

“I am a lover. I’m not a fighter. I’m not here to bash anyone or tear them down. I know how it feels and I wouldn’t do it to my worst enemy, or even when facing the greatest adversary America has ever had internally. But throughout Kamala Harris’ career, she has proven to us who she is,” she concluded.
