There are numerous areas where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can improve, and one way to do that is to make an in-season trade before the NFL trade deadline goes into effect on November 5th at 4pm ET.
Some of the more areas of concern for the Bucs are the linebacker and wide receiver positions, but another area where the franchise can and would likely like to improve is at the cornerback position. Their regular starters, Zyon McCollum and Jamel Dean, are solid starting linebackers, but behind them things get a little tough, especially with Dean on injured reserve.
Currently, undrafted rookie Tyrek Funderburk is the opposite starting corner from McCollum, but will return to the backup role once Dean, Josh Hayes, Keenan Isaac and occasional nickel back and safety Christian Izien return. Needless to say, things aren’t exactly where they need to be for the second one to be successful.
That’s why Bleacher Report lists the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a potential trade partner with the Los Angeles Rams to acquire former two-time Pro Bowler Tre’Davious White.

A former first-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, White made two Pro Bowl appearances and earned All-Pro honors in one season early in his career. Since then, though, White has had trouble staying on the field due to injury, and in the four games he’s started for LA, he hasn’t been able to hit nearly the level he should, allowing an opposing passer rating of 138.4.
White has high potential, but he’s not the shut-down guy he was early in his career. The Buccaneers don’t need another starting safety, but improving their depth with above-average talent and a will to fight and compete is something they could use, especially after losing Bryce Hall early in the season.
Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht tends not to make any moves at the trade deadline, so it will be interesting to see if the organization does so this time around, as they still have a pretty decent shot at making the playoffs.
