Cineflix Rights has inked several deals for The Crime of Irvine Welsh, starring Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible 2, Batumen) in his International Emmy Award-winning title role.
The series has been acquired by Telefonica’s pay-TV platform Movistar Plus+ (Spain), SBS (Australia), RTE (Ireland), Blue Entertainment (Switzerland) and Canal+ for viewers in Luxembourg, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Netherlands.

The series follows Detective Inspector Ray Lennox (Scott), a man who fights his own unsettling battle as he undertakes serious crime investigations in a city on the brink.
The series, adapted by “Trainspotting” author Welsh from his own novel, also stars John Simm (“Life on Mars,” “Grace”), Joanna Vanderham (“Warrior,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”), Angela Griffin (” Harlots’, ‘White Lines’), Ken Stott (‘The Dig’, ‘Fortitude’) and Jamie Sives (‘Guilt’, ‘Too Close’).

The show is produced by Buccaneer and Off Grid Film & TV.
The deals with Movistar Plus+, Blue Entertainment and Canal+ were closed by Sabrina Ayala, Commercial Consultant, Iberia, Italy, French-speaking Europe and French Canada. The RTE deal was closed by Sandra Piha, senior vice president, sales, pan-regional, UK, Ireland and Scandinavia, and Chris Blewett, senior vice president, sales, Asia Pacific and Benelux, closed the deal with SBS.
Cineflix Script Rights include the new crime drama Virdee, based on AA Dhand’s best-selling books, for the BBC; “Wynonna Earp: Vengeance” exclusively for Tubi; dystopian thriller “Heart Attack” for Fuji TV; and the 2024 Séries Mania Official Selection “So Good, Marianne,” inspired by the love story between Leonard Cohen and Marianne Yellen.
These new titles join the returning seasons of the International Emmy Award-winning best drama espionage series “Tehran” for Apple TV+; Paramount+ Australia’s crime drama The Last King of the Cross; “Reginald the Vampire,” starring Jacob Batalon of “Spider-Man” for SYFY in the US; and Acorn TV’s cozy crime series Whitstable Pearl.
