The Texas Tech baseball team kicked off its annual red-black scrimmage series on Wednesday and released its schedule for the 2025 season on Thursday.

The Red Raiders will begin play with a three-game homestand at North Carolina on February 14-16. Tech will make its home opener Feb. 21-23 against UC Irvine.

From there, Texas Tech will head to the Las Vegas Classic on February 28-March 2 with games against Illinois, Texas and Washington scheduled.

Big 12 play will begin March 14-16 with a trip to Houston, while Texas Tech’s first conference home game will be March 21-23 against TCU.

Texas Tech also has midweek contests scheduled against New Mexico (home March 18, at Albuquerque April 8), Tarleton State (March 25), Oklahoma (April 1 at Frisco), a home-and-home with Abilene Christian (Lubbock on April 21, Abilene on April 22) and New Mexico State (May 6).

Texas Tech will close out the regular season with a series at BYU on May 15-17.

The Big 12 also announced a new format for the conference tournament, which will be held May 21-25 at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The top 12 schools in the conference standings will advance to the tournament, with the top four seeds earning a first-round bye. Each game will be single elimination, with the championship to be played on May 25.
