Wake Forest Invitational Demon Deacons Kit – Wake Forest Athletics

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Continuing a strong fall slate, the Wake Forest men’s tennis team is set to host the Wake Forest Invitational this weekend at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from Friday, November 1 to Sunday, November 3. Play will begin at 9:30 am each day.

Friday: 2 rounds of doubles starting at 9:30, followed by 1 round of singles

Saturday: 1 doubles round starts at 9:30, followed by 2 singles rounds

Sunday: 1 round of singles

Participating teams: Wake Forest, VA, Auburn, Clemson, NC State, Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, Cleveland State, College of Charleston, Elon, JMU, NC A&T, NC Central, Tennessee Tech, Furman, Georgia Southern

Last Time Out (Elon Invitational)

Highlighted by a perfect weekend in freshman singles Joaquin Guillemhe Wake Forest men’s tennis team completed a successful outing at the Elon Invite on Sunday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

Guilleme opened singles play with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 win over NC A&T’s Lucas Cupu-Moison. He followed that up with straight set wins over Velko Krstic (Elon), Novak Novakovic (SC State) and Hugo Hidalgo Vega (NC Central).

In doubles, Guillaume was partnered with his fellow freshman Nikola Parichkov as the pair picked up a pair of solid wins against Elon’s Antinheimo/Pilette (6-2) and NC Central’s Hakim/Saarinen (6-1).

Parichkov also posted a two-set singles win over Arsene Pugo (UNC Charlotte) and a 4-3 (ret.) win over Oscar Antihaimo (Ilon).

Sophomore Marin Mazev, etc Alexander Shalmi achieved a 6-3 aggregate win in doubles. In singles, Mazev rattled off three straight wins to close out the weekend.
