After the tough fight between New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula and Vancouver Canucks forward Connor Garland, his post-fight gesture was a little classless, to say the least.
In last night’s loss to the New Jersey Devils, Vancouver Canucks forward Connor Garland tried to impact the game in a different way by using his fists. The fight most likely came out of pure frustration with Garland as the Canucks failed to gain momentum on offense.
Out of the tie in the second period, in the middle of a three-goal run by the Devils, Garland had to challenge Haula to a fight, and he apparently complied. Unfortunately for Garland, Haula got the best of the fight, landing him punch after punch until a takedown ended it.
Haula was chosen as the winner with an overwhelming 85% of the HockeyFights.com vote. You can watch the tilt here.

After the game ended and with a big 3-goal lead, Haula decided to blow a kiss to the Vancouver Canucks crowd in honor of his victory. It appeared to be a classless move by the 33-year-old center. His team already had a significant lead and that he was acting like he was beating a heavyweight like Ryan Reaves or Matt Rempe.
Garland stands about 5’8 and to celebrate a victory in a hockey fight against him, in this situation, just seems ridiculous and unsportsmanlike. He needs to try these tricks against a real NHL fighter and see what happens.
