BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — Baton Rouge police have arrested a man accused of shooting a man after an argument in September.
Javin Moore, 19, was arrested on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property and unlawful use of weapons and dangerous instruments.
According to police, officers were called to the 5000 block of Highland Road on Sept. 15 for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Witnesses informed detectives that the victim and his girlfriend were driving a red sedan south on Lee Drive behind a white Kia Optima. Witnesses said the Kia repeatedly hit the brakes, forcing the victim to try to pass the Optima. When the two cars reached the traffic light, the drivers had an argument. The driver of the Optima reportedly pulled up in front of the victim, blocking the victim’s car and threw a can of soda at the windshield.
The victim got out of his vehicle and was standing by his door when Moore reportedly fired shots from the Kia Optima. The driver of the Optima told Moore detectives he started shooting because he reportedly saw a gun in the victim’s hand, according to the affidavit. The victim was shot in the shoulder and is alive.

Moore was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on $210,000 bond, according to jail records.
