D’Corey Shilow, 21 (top right), Javonta Turner, 21 (above the center), and Tydrick Davis, 20 (top left)all three are charged with premeditated murder. Investigators in the case identified Shilow as the alleged gunman who shot and killed Gilbert when she caught all three men stealing her car outside her home.
According to court documents reviewed by KFDM, Shilow allegedly admitted to his involvement in her death, naming Turner and Davis as his accomplices.
He told investigators he gave the clothes he was wearing that night to Turner, which police were able to confirm when they found it at Turner’s home. At that time, Turner was arrested.
The probable cause affidavit for Davis’ arrest states that he trusted a witness who came forward to say he was with Shilow and Turner at the time of Gilbert’s death. Tuner is suspected as the second shooter in the shooting, Per KBMT.
Gilbert’s body was found the next afternoon by her mother, who stopped by to check on her daughter when she was unable to reach her. Gilbert told authorities this was the second time he had experienced such a tragedy. In 2008 she went to check on another daughter who died of a heart attack.

The suspects are speaking out
KFDM reports that Shilow’s mother turned him into police and the news station was there when he was dispatched from Beaumont Police Department headquarters for a trip to the jail.
The outlet asked Shilow if he had any comment to explain what happened, to which he reportedly replied, “I mean, I would, but it doesn’t make sense.”
When asked if they were stealing Gilbert’s car for money, he told the store he had money and said he didn’t know why they were doing it, nor did he say if it was a targeted crime or an accident.

When the news station asked him if he had anything to say to Gilbert’s mother, Shilow said, “I’m sorry for your loss, Miss Ebony.” As he was put into the police car, he added: “I’m not a punk. I’m not a monster.’
The publication also spoke with Turner as he was being led out of police headquarters, where he reportedly denied involvement in the killing, berating Shilow for naming him.
He told the news station he wasn’t there when it happened and wasn’t involved. He also had nothing to say to the victim’s family, but he had a message of his own. “I’m sorry for putting them through that bulls– I’m done talking.”
Shilow’s bond was set at $750,000. Davis was set at $800,000. Turner was also set at $800,000, with the judge additionally ordering that he wear a GPS monitor, remain in Jefferson County and have no contact with the co-defendants.
