Hey Lubbock, it’s candy season! We asked some of you what your favorite treats are, and some of the results are as classic as they are sweet. And some are not so “classic”!
Let’s start with the all-time classic, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Susie Landol likes hers with caramel, while Dwayne Stretch and Linda Rogers are all about this peanut butter and chocolate combination. Reese is pretty much everyone’s all-time favorite.
Christopher Bueno has a sweet spot for M&M’s in all their glorious forms—milk chocolate, peanut, and even pretzel. These little guys are perfect for grabbing by the handful. And if you’re looking for a little crunch, longtime listener Buzz Barton swears by the Nestle Crunch bar. (I honestly didn’t think ANYONE would choose a Crunch bar as their favorite!)
Then we have the savory and the nostalgic: Brittany Bell opts for sweet cakes and pastries, while Shannon Carter is a die-hard candy fan. Sweet corn is a divisive thing – you either LOVE it or you HATE it – for Shannan, it’s all about love. (I love the stuff too! Mix some with salted peanuts and you’ve got just the right Payday flavor!)
For something unique, Elizabeth Tyler says saltwater toffee from Candy Girl on 50th is her go-to. And if you’re craving a little retro flair, Teresa Cale reaches for Bit-O-Honey.
And here’s one that’s a real Texas treat – Rosanne Decker loves homemade popcorn balls. It doesn’t get any older than that!
So what’s your favorite candy, West Texas friends? Whatever it is, be sure to stock up for Halloween and try to give away at least a FEW trick or treat pieces!
How do YOU participate in the daily Facebook question?
That’s simple! Just like our Facebook page here, check it daily and answer the question. We usually ask about current events (ZERO political issues), food, pets, holidays and things along those lines. Basically, we just want to get to know our listeners better and we want to know your opinion on a certain thing
Plus it’s FUN!
