Cuban singer and musician Julian Oviedo expressed his anger and grief following the arrest of Damian Valdezwho is accused of murdering Jose Manuel Carbajal Zaldivar, better known in the music scene as El Tiger. Oviedo, a prominent figure in Cuba’s urban music landscape, shared an impassioned message on his Instagram Stories, condemning Valdés and reflecting on the devastating effects of this tragedy.
“A countryman killed his countryman. This is a harsh truth and even though justice cannot bring back our beloved Jose, at least let that SOB rot in jail for leaving four children without a father,” Oviedo wrote in his post.
Be careful when choosing friends
Oviedo also stressed the need to be careful when choosing friends in an artistic and social environment, which he says can be filled with people with bad intentions. Known for his direct style and unfiltered opinions, Oviedo did not hold back his disdain for Valdes, using strong language to express his feelings.
“You fool, you don’t deserve to live, you bastard,” he added, showing his deep contempt for the man he held responsible for the tragedy that left the Cuban artistic community in shock.
A stern warning to fellow artists
The singer ended his message with a warning to his peers: “Learn to choose your friends wisely, don’t let anyone near you, not everyone comes with good intentions.” These words reflect Oviedo’s concern for the environment around many artists, which he says could lead to tragic consequences if precautions are not taken.
The news of El Taiger’s death has shaken fans and fellow musicians alike as they struggle to come to terms with the loss of one of Cuba’s most beloved urban musicians. The investigation continues, and Oviedo’s message continues to resonate with his followers and on social media.
