A Reno police officer shot and killed a man who was barricaded inside the condemned Lakemill Lodge on Thursday.
The person was transported to an area hospital, according to Reno police. No information has been released about their condition, their identities or whether they were residents of the Mill Street Motel.
The Northern Nevada Department of Public Health and the city of Reno condemned Lakemill Lodge Thursday and evacuated residents after fentanyl and methamphetamine syringes and human waste were found in common areas.
More than 100 rooms were occupied and many were long-term housing for residents.
The Reno Police Department said area officer-involved shooting protocols have been accepted.
