Bucky Irving will not practice Thursday, the finger injury could last the season
15 seconds agoTampa Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving (finger) will not practice Thursday and may not practice for the rest of the week. According to Tampa Bay Buccaneers senior writer Scott Smith, Irving will likely deal with the finger injury for the rest of the season. Despite logging one limited practice last week, the 22-year-old made it through Sunday’s game against the Falcons. Irving rushed nine times for 44 yards and scored on all seven targets for 40 yards in Week 8. He has been solid for the Bucs this season, rushing for 395 yards and three touchdowns on 76 rushing attempts while catching 20 passes for 164 yards over eight plays. Irving will likely be limited most weeks and won’t practice regularly because of his toe problem. Tampa Bay is down two of its top wide receivers, Chris Godwin (ankle) and Mike Evans (hamstring); The Bucs could rely more on the ground game with Irving, Rachad White and Sean Tucker. Fantasy managers will need to monitor Irving’s practice throughout the week, as he will likely be questionable for Monday’s game against Kansas City. If Irving can’t prepare for Monday Night Football, White and Tucker should see an increase in snaps and carries in Week 9.
