Birmingham Club Forum issued a statement regarding the recent death of a 22-year-old man who attended a Halloween event at the establishment. “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and friends of a man we were devastated to learn died in hospital on Saturday,” the club wrote on social networks. “He became ill in the hall and was treated by our medical team before being taken to hospital by ambulance. We have all been deeply affected by this tragedy, as we know, many people in our wider community.’ West Midlands Police started an investigation in the death – they believe the man and two other attendees took drugs while at the Forum. Another man was arrested and charged in the incident, but his identity has not been publicly released. “We are working with His Majesty’s Coroner in Birmingham and a post mortem will be carried out in due course,” police said. said in a statement. Forum also said a local council had temporarily suspended the club’s premises license in response to the death. “We are working closely with local public authorities to fully understand the circumstances and ensure we continue to provide the safest possible environment for visitors, as we have done for the past three years,” the statement said. “We accept the council’s decision…and are committed to putting in place any necessary additional measures.” The club confirmed for Permanent advisor that organizers of affected events will contact ticket holders directly with refund information or revised event details.
