Students explore career choices at Lake County event – Daily Herald

Thousands of students descended on the Lake County Fairgrounds to learn about future career opportunities during the Navig8 Lake County event on Wednesday.

Middle school students from Fremont District 79 were among more than 4,000 students attending the Navig8 Lake County job and career event Wednesday at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake.

A group of 130 Fremont Middle School students from District 79 in Mundelein were among 4,200 eighth-graders and high school students who attended to learn about careers and jobs in a variety of fields, including health services and technology, human and community education and training, information technology , manufacturing, finance and business services, arts and communication and agriculture.

“It’s a great opportunity for kids to learn about different professions that are out there and see if something might pique their interest,” said Nick Brilowski, District 79’s director of public relations.
