The Arizona Fall League experience was certainly mixed for the Mets’ prospects and continued that trend in the Scottsdale Scorpions win 10-6 on Wednesday. The two Mets offensive prospects who played had good games, but a starter Jonathan Pintaro stayed with the coach and the reliever Dylan Ross continued his awful AFL showing.
Gilbert now has a cool 10 shutouts compared to just five hits in 12 games for Scottsdale. The 10 walks are tied with Reimer for second on the team. Reimer is also second on the team with 10 RBIs in 10 games.
Jett Williams there was a break. He has a .750 OPS in 13 games.
- RHP Jonathan Pintaro (3.48 ERA) 1.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K
- RHP Dylan Ross (19.64 ERA) 1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
- RHP Saul Garcia (2.84 ERA) 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
Pintaro has been a great story, going from starting the season with the Glacier Range Riders in Indy Ball to finishing the regular season with a start for the Triple-A Syracuse Mets. Unfortunately, he left with the coach on Wednesday night after just 45 games.
Ross has struggled a lot but it’s important to remember that due to injury he entered the AFL with just one professional innings behind him.
Garcia, cousin of Wilmer Floreshas a 2.84 ERA over his first 6 1/3 AFL innings.
