PHOENIX — Lots of attractions in the Phoenix area on friday it will light blue-green to raise Alzheimer’sconsciousness as part of Alzheimer’sAmerica Foundation’s (AFA) Light the World in Teal program.
These sights are among 1,300 sites in all 50 states and 16 other countries will “fade out” on November 1, the first day of Alzheimer’sAwareness month.
“It’s wonderful to see some of the most famous and iconic places in the Phoenix area rise Alzheimer’sawareness and support for the millions of Americans affected by the disease,” said Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., AFA President and CEO. “The AFA thanks each and every one of them for ‘blue-green’ and literally shining a light on the issue Alzheimer’sthe disease of.”
Nearly seven million Americans, including 151,000 Arizonans, are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease. The annual program aims to shed light on Alzheimer’s disease and show support for those affected by it.
Individuals can raise awareness by wearing teal or by using social media to raise awareness.
