Farmers have started selling flower garlands produced in different areas at the main market in the valley.

According to Min Bahadur Tamang, former president of FAN, flowers produced in three areas of Valley and surrounding areas have started to enter the market.

He said around 4 million marigolds and 475,000 Makhamali are estimated and the rest of the Godawari garlands will be consumed this Tihar.

Marigold flowers are grown commercially in different areas of all seven provinces. Marigold flowers are mainly produced in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Dading, Kavre, Makwanpur, Ramechhap, Jhapa, Ilam, Dankuta, Sunsari, Morang, Dhanusha, Sarlahi, Saptari, Siraha, Rupandehi, Kaski, Syangja, Banke, Palpa , Tanahu, Dang, Kailali, etc.
