BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPRUD) — A Baton Rouge man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in connection with a July 2021 shooting that left one person dead.
Charles Wade, 28, of Baton Rouge, was sentenced to five years for manslaughter, 10 years for aggravated assault with a firearm and three years for domestic violence child endangerment, according to East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore.
The 10-year sentence on the aggravated assault with a firearm charge will be suspended after Wade is released from prison because it is his first conviction, according to Moore.
Moore said that after he gets out of prison, Wade will be on active supervised probation for five years with several conditions, including $9,000 for a funeral.
