MADISON, Ala. (WAFF) – A private Christian preschool that had staffing issues just two years ago turned over a new leaf and broke ground on a new school in the city of Madison on Wednesday.
Ardent Preschool and Daycare already has three locations in the Tennessee Valley among many in the Birmingham area, but this will be the first location in Madison.
Although they had staffing difficulties a few years ago, Ardent Preschool and Daycare CEO John LaBresse says that’s a thing of the past.
He says the new school will be able to meet the needs of Madison’s explosive growth. He says Ardent is ready to hire up to 60 employees at this new location.
“We had a really good staff and a lot of teachers in training,” LaBreche said.
Labreche adds that although they are Christian, their doors are open to everyone.
“We’re not just for Christians, we’re for anyone who has a child with a love of learning,” LaBresse said.
The school will also have many safety features such as a magnetic lock security system to keep out trespassers.
LaBreche is adding this new building, which will include 18 classrooms and have room for nearly 300 students.
“It’s built around a community that’s up and coming, but it also has a lot of different businesses around it, so we can be that outlet for families to make it something safe and secure and a little bit of excitement for them.” , LaBreche said.
This school sits on more than three acres of land and will have a splash pad, covered play areas, a soccer field and many other indoor and outdoor play areas.
This new school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2025.
