Glendale native Raymond S. Kellis High School LB announces verbal commitment to ASU – Burn City Sports

ASU football may have lost two wide receiver commitments this month, but they have secured a verbal pledge from a local product.

After Dallastown (Pa.) Area High School receiver Michael Scott and Weiss (Texas) High School receiver Adrian Wilson both decommitted in the past few weeks, Raymond S. Kelly High School quarterback Tristan Bacon has announced he will remain in Arizona after graduating in 2025.

“100% Blessed and thankful to be in this position to stay in my hometown. And say I have verbally committed to ASU Football. Thank you Jesus,” Bacon said on X/Twitter.

Bacon, a native of Glendale, can play receiver, running back, defensive end and linebacker. According to Rivalshe is a two-star recruit who accepted an offer made by Arizona State defensive backs coach AJ Cooper on Tuesday.

For the Cougars, who are 7-1 this season, Bacon rushed for 630 yards on 58 carries and 12 touchdowns, collected nine receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown as a receiver and accounted for 60 tackles and 2.0 sacks on defense. according to MaxPreps.

He had too bids received from Big Sky Conference programs Idaho State, Sacramento State, Idaho, Northern Arizona and Eastern Washington before choosing ASU.

Arizona State has 18 tough commitments from the class of 2025. Bacon joins Mililani (Hawaii) High School linebacker Isaiah Josefa as the only other linebackers recruited so far.

As for Wilson, he committed to Colorado last Saturday, three days after decommitting from ASU. Wilson was committed to Arizona State, TCU and Oregon before decommitting three times.
