Baton Rouge-Maje from Baton Rouge with numerous previous arrests for weapons related to weapons since 2002 was arrested on Tuesday in connection with an early morning shooting of Madison Avenue.
According to Baton Rouge police, 40 -year -old Edwin Curry fired a rifle at a vehicle that pulled into the 5100 block of Madison Avenue after a brick was thrown through his windshield. Police say the driver stopped calling the authorities when Curry entered a home, pulled out a rifle and returned to fire a few shots to the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The victim was struck by the bullet shed and was transported to a local hospital with life -threatening firearms.
Curry was accused of attempting second -degree murder, criminal damage, aggravated criminal damage on property, illegal use of weapons, possession of a firearm by a convicted criminal and preventing justice.
Police did not provide details about what led to the brick. It is also unclear if curry and the victim know each other.
BRPD said Curry was arrested for numerous crimes related to weapons between 2002 and 2022. He also reported to be faced with illegal drugs, property damage, attack and burglary.
Curry is currently being held at the parish prison in East Baton Rouge.
