Hialeah, FLA. (WSVN) -The calm young chefs from Miami -Dadad showed their culinary skills at the Taste of Education 2025 competition, marking the 40th anniversary of the educational fund.
The event, held at Hialeah Park on Tuesday, included more than 30 local school culinary programs, with students fighting for $ 20,000 awards.
“All I know is that they told me to wear elastic pants and I did it,” said the Aha Hospitality Andrew Platt group founder.
The competitors prepared gourmet dishes for a panel of famous chefs, restaurateurs and hospitality specialists who estimated the records based on taste, presentation and creativity.
Guests took samples of dishes such as Birria Tacos with handmade corn tortillas, shrimp and skewers, Jamaica chicken and sticky pudding of Dulce de leche ice cream.
“So, here we have our lamb skewers with different vegetables,” said American senior high school Jerome Vartaman.
“So here with our surprise of the vegetarian layer, it’s a vegetable lasagna and you usually make lasagna with meat, but we wanted to switch it,” said the student chef Shengal Estevez.
The participants also voted for the covenant award for the choice of people.
The judges included the famous chef Alan Susser, the restaurateur Matt Cusher and the food blogger Cheyenne Rodney.
“It’s not just food and restaurants. There are and there are [opportunity] In television and charity funds and education and literature, “said Cusher. “There are so many ways to make a living in the culinary and they open their eyes to all these options.”
The participating schools included Miami Northwestern Senior High, Coral Gables Senior High and Robert Morgan Senior High, among others.
