Laredo reports 33rd overdose death – KGNS

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Laredo has reached its 33rd overdose death of the year.

On Saturday, October 19, Laredo Police responded to a call of an unresponsive male in the 1400 block of Aldameda Dr.

The call was reportedly made by a family member of the victim.

When they arrived, authorities found drugs on the man.

The Laredo Fire Department was also called to the scene where paramedics pronounced the subject dead.

According to Jose Espinosa of the Laredo Police, “There have been a total of 33 overdose deaths reported here in the city of Laredo. We are currently awaiting an autopsy to determine if this death was an overdose death.

Last year in 2023, there were a total of 66 overdose-related deaths in Laredo.
