We reported on Wednesday morning that a 19-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death – the fourth arrest in Police Scotland’s homicide investigation to date.
Police confirmed tonight that the teenager has been charged and is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court tomorrow (Thursday, October 31).
Mr Taylor, 44, was found with serious injuries on the Town Crescent at around 1.55pm on Friday 18 October. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men – Key O’Connor, 26, and Kieran Lindsay, also 19 – have already appeared in court charged with murder.
Both did not enter pleas during their separate private petition hearings and were remanded in custody.
A 53-year-old man who was previously arrested has been released pending further enquiries.
Detectives have set up a website which gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the major investigation team, which can be submitted anonymously.
The portal is available at: mipp.police.uk/operation/SCOT24S10-PO1.
Alternatively, anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1878 of 18 October 2024.
