Alice Cooper gives fans a look back at the old days with a deluxe edition of “Muscle Of Love”!
Muscle of Love, was the last album from the original Alice Cooper Band, in the days before Vinnie officially took the name. The deluxe edition comes with early versions and alternate mixes of all his tracks and is available in 2-LP pink vinyl and 1-CD/Blu-ray configurations, with a Blu-ray disc available on November 20th.
There’s also a track-by-track account of the album, with interviews from guitarist Michael Bruce, bassist Dennis Dunaway, and drummer Neil Smith and guitarist Nick Mashbir, who also played on the album.
Released in 1973, the album was a return to the band’s hard rock sound following the success of Theatricals, Billion Dollar Babies and School’s Out. With no exposure to these classic albums, it peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and only reached gold status. By the end of the album the following year, the band had burned out and Alice Cooper played their last show in April. At this time Vincent legally changed his name from Vincent Furnier to Alice Cooper and went on to have a successful solo career.
