Everyone agrees that Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player for the Milwaukee Bucks.

If they want to be a force in the Eastern Conference again, they need Antetokounmpo to play incredibly well.

But Gilbert Arenas thinks the two-time NBA MVP could have a very tough season for one big reason: His brother might not be on the team.

Speaking on his show via Legion Hoops, Arenas said he thinks Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to have a bad year because Thanasis Antetokounmpo is currently unsigned with the Bucks.

Arenas said:

“Besides Giannis, the most important player in this team was Thanassis. When things don’t go his way, he looks to his older brother. He’s not on the team? Done!…. This might be his worst year yet. It’s like telling the two Jokic brothers, ‘Come back!’

Thanasis Antetokounmpo has spent the past five seasons with the Bucks, but it’s unclear what’s next for him.

He is not expected to play at all this upcoming season due to a torn Achilles, but the Bucks are still considering bringing him back.

Multiple reports have indicated that the Bucks are considering trading MarJon Beauchamp, in part so they can open up a roster spot.

In his five seasons with the Bucks, Thanasis Antetokounmpo averaged 2.4 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.

He also averaged 7.7 minutes per game.

Despite those low numbers, Milwaukee could make a move to keep him because they know how much he helps the team’s chemistry and his brother’s mindset.

If the Bucks don’t sign Thanasis Antetokounmpo, it could have a major negative impact on their most vital star.
