By james art LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – From today through November 1st, Lubbock voters can cast their ballots in the general election. This includes the Road Link and Frenship ISD proposals.
As of 5:45 p.m., the city says 9,811 people have registered to vote so far.
For first-time voters, this election is an opportunity to engage with issues that affect their lives.
One Texas Tech student, Tatum Reeves, shared his thoughts on awareness.
“I think people should be more aware of what is happening in our country. I think now that we’re adults, it affects us,” Reeves said. “I mean, it affects everybody, no matter what your age. But for now, you know, we have to pay for housing, we have to pay for food and gas, so I think it’s very important for us to gain knowledge and use what we have to do as American citizens. “
Early voting sections are open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, they are open from noon to 6 p.m
City officials want to remind voters that photo ID is required.
