Billionaire Mavs owner’s Trump endorsement clashes with Kyrie Irving after Mark Cuban donation of Kamala Harris emerges – EssentiallySports

After reaching the NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks look closer than ever. This can be true for players who share a strong camaraderie and brotherhood. But what if there is a conflict that starts at the top of the hierarchy. As election fever approaches, some revelations may draw these parallels. It should be noted that there is some political turmoil between Mark Cuban and new majority owner Miriam Adelson.

Cuban, the former majority owner who sold his country in December, has been at odds with Donald Trump for nearly a decade. At one point he called it an “idiot”and in the presidential race he showed strong support for Kamala Harris. However, it was with his kind words and generous spirit.

Adelson is more about action. The king of the casino led his voice for the opposition in the person of Donald Trump. And her way of supporting him is by donating heavily to his campaign. She reportedly donated $100 million from her own pockets. While it’s change for her, it ranks as the highest donation to a Trump rally, even more than Elon Musk, according to Front Office Sports.

By comparison, Cuban allegedly provided no financial support to Harris, the reasons for which remain unclear. Adelson also has indirect differences with Mavericks star Kyrie Irving over their opposing views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts.

Adelson and Donald Trump have been close associates since he ran for office against Joe Biden in 2020. At the time, Adelson, with more than $35 billion, made a $90 million donation to support his campaign. After he returned to the competition this year, she continued to show her support. Their relationship even dates back to the first time Trump took office, when their families sat together at the podium in 2017.

Plus, she’s done more than just donate $100 million to his efforts this year. There is an understanding that more funding is needed and the 79-year-old has been an active voice in making it happen. She urged billionaires in her network to donate to Donald Trump’s campaign.

“We’re trying to raise more and Dr. Adelson is a star in fundraising, getting more people on board,” said a senior adviser to the group.

It’s unclear whether her influence played a role, but in the NBA, James Dolan, the owner of the Knicks, has also often supported Donald Trump. So far, there are no reports of him donating to his election campaign. However, he recently suggested Madison Square Garden for the POTUS nominee to hold the campaign rally. It was a gesture that Trump publicly acknowledged and even thanked Dolan for his permission.

The election race is heading down to the wire, and while NBA teams may be signaling their unity, there appears to be some disunity within some organizations on those fronts.
