NBA Daily Recap – October 29, 2024: Kyrie Irving, Buddy Hield, Domantas Sabonis shine Tuesday night – Playoffs

Another day, another set of exciting NBA matchups. Tuesday night brought a mix of exciting wins and disappointing losses for teams around the league.

The Dallas Mavericks, led by Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in a thriller. The Brooklyn Nets, despite a strong start, couldn’t hold onto their lead and fell to the Denver Nuggets in overtime.

Let’s take a look at what happened in other key league matches on October 29.

Mavericks 120, Timberwolves 114

The Dallas Mavericks secured a hard-fought 120-114 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite Anthony Edwards’ hot start, the Mavericks took control in the third quarter with Kyrie Irving leading the way. Luka Doncic, despite struggling with his shot, played a crucial role in preserving the lead late in the game.

Irving finished the game with 35 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Meanwhile, Doncic scored 24 points and contributed 8 rebounds and 9 assists.

Nets 139, Nuggets 144

The Brooklyn Nets suffered a disappointing 144-139 overtime loss to the Denver Nuggets. Despite a strong start led by Dennis Schroder, the Nets were unable to sustain their momentum and allowed the Nuggets to claw their way back into the game.

Nuggets star Nikola Jokic finished the night with 29 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists. Meanwhile, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon also contributed 24 points each.

Kings 113, Jazz 96

The Sacramento Kings picked up their first road win of the season, defeating the Utah Jazz 113-96. Domantas Sabonis led the Kings with 28 points as the Jazz struggled to contain the Kings’ offensive firepower.

Warriors 124, Pelicans 106

The injury-riddled Golden State Warriors held on despite a poor performance, including 22 turnovers, to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 124-106. Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 31 points, but the Warriors’ balanced scoring, led by Buddy Hield and Waters, proved too much for New Orleans. Hield finished the night with 28 points, including 7 of 11 three-point attempts.
