A ceremony dedicated to the life of Troy J. Cinnamon, will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Denham Springs First Baptist Church, visitation will begin at 2:00 PM until the time of service at 5:00 PM.
Troy was born in Baton Rouge on April 8, 1987 and passed away on October 24, 2024 at the age of 37. He was a resident of St. Amant and a graduate of Central High School, Class of 2005; and was a skilled welder known for his dedication and craftsmanship. He took pride in his work and was respected by his peers.
Troy was never shy about volunteering his time for his family, friends or anyone in need, and especially the children involved in his life. Family and friends will always remember how he loved and had a passion for the children in his life, his children, nieces, nephews and his friends’ children, they always enjoyed their time with him.
He was an avid reader, loved poetry, reading to understand his bible, astronomy, watching movies and playing video games, especially with all the kids.
The moments he was most proud of were the birth of his beautiful children, Luca and Kailen, the purchase of his truck, and being able to regain his mobility after intensive rehabilitation from an accident.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ignatius “Nat” Canella, Antonia “Lena” Canella, Charlotte Myers and his sister, Jennifer Canella.
Survivors include his children Luca of Denham Springs and Caylan of Central, his father Frank Cannella Sr. (Stacey) of Central, mother Sylvia Myers Cannella of St. Amant, grandfather Alan “Bubba” Myers, brother Frank Cannella Jr. (Ashley) of Denham Springs. nieces Brantley, Bennett, Everly and Ailee Canella, stepsister Christine Valencia (Sean), nephews SJ and Tate Valencia, stepbrother Michael Daigle, also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Troy will be remembered for his kind, servant heart, his unwavering dedication to his family to be the best version of himself he can be, his generosity to friends and family, the many strangers we may never know, and his perseverance him to survive all that life can throw at him.
The family extends their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Serenity Treatment Center, Baton Rouge.
In lieu of traditional memorials, memorial gifts may be given by those who prefer, these gifts will be used by Troy’s family to honor his life and memory.
