Trenton, New Jersey – The Committee on the Law and Public Safety of the New Jersey Senate approved a bill establishing the crime to incite a public feud and increases penalties for a violation of behavior in certain circumstances.
The Senate Bill No. 3507, favorably reported by the Committee, makes a fourth -degree crime for deliberate organization or promotion of a group of four or more people in order to participate in violation of public gathering or event behavior. If the law is not related to a public event, it remains a violation of the persons.
The bill also improves penalties for a violation of behavior when a person tries to conceal his identity in order to avoid prosecution or action with the intention of breaking the public event. A fourth -degree crime in New Jersey is sentenced to 18 months in prison and a fine of up to $ 10,000, while disorder violation is punished for up to six months in prison and a fine of up to $ 1,000.
