Five Texas Longhorns ranked in the Returning Players list in Top 100 – Sports Illustrated

As Texas Longhorn is looking to return to the college playoffs for the third consecutive year. They will try to do so with one of the best lists in the country.

And if Longhorns’s aspiration to reach its first national championship game for more than a decade will be successful, this will probably be largely due to the five players who were recently ranked in the top-100 returning players at the College at College at College of College at College Football,

Colin Simmons

“There were times in 2024, when Colin Simmons looked like an experienced veteran passage, showing incredible power that you would expect to see from a junior for a few years in a college weight room,” the college sports network wrote.

All he needed was a season before the former five-star perspective began to be seen as one of the best players at the College of Football. He is the second highest edge in the list, only behind Dylan Stewart of South Carolina, who, as Simmons, made an impact as a true freshman of Gamecocks.

As the article notes, Simmons ended with the fifth most sacks in SEC as a freshman with nine, and the third most handles the loss of 14. With this production, all coming as a freshman, this is an exciting thought for Longhorn fans what will He did in the next two seasons.

“He has been an associate at a high level of Texas Longhorm since he made his debut as a real freshman, and enters his junior campaign on the back of a season where he led SEC at Tackles for Loss (17) and forced blurring,” CSN writes.

The first of the two returning all -American people from last season. Although not declared a finalist for the Butkus Award from last season, Hill will have another who potentially win the award annually given to the best leader at the College of Football.

The former five -star perspective has been more than he had lived over since she arrived in Austin. He will enter his junior season with a chance to solidify his status as one of the best linear players in his NFL class.

“He offers an athletic threat to the position of the defender, who lacked in the program with Quinn Eurs and will not doubt his talent of his hand, one of the best passers -by in the 2025 season should make him one,” CSN wrote.

How often is a defender with just two careers begins under his belt, was declared one of the best players at the return? Not very often I would say. This is just another example of over and attention that Manning has and will continue to receive a title in the fall.

Hoping to win a national championship much of this pressure will undoubtedly fall on the young shoulders of Manning. And while two starts are a very small sample size, he has not shown signs that he has not been dealing with pressure so far.

“Malik Mohammed has collected eight breakthroughs on his second season with the program and must be one of the discounts of blocking to know this fall. The disappointing display in the playoff does not have to determine his ceiling,” CSN wrote.

The loss of the ruling winner of the Jim Torpe Award certainly hurts Longhorns secondary. But with the return of Mohammed, they will have their chance to return the Thorpe Award back to Austin for the second consecutive year.

With 14 starts already under his belt, Mohammed will be the most experienced outer corner in the List of Texas this coming season. And now it will seem to stand up as an angle to be afraid in terms of the opponent’s defender.

“Power in all phases with its style of heavy hitting a gung-ho, paired with a recess with an impressive capacity to cover, he collected six shells for loss, two sacks, two intercepts and 10 breaks on the way to winning the CSN first team of American Awards this fall, “CSN writes.

After deciding to return to Austin for his senior season, hoping to lead his beloved Longhorns to the National Championship. Taaffe, the most American field safety of the first team, will repress its role as a starter over the top of Texas protection.
