A former volunteer youth pastor in Birmingham faces prostitution-related charges in Florida.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Dewayne Johnson, 40, is accused of coordinating illegal activities in several states using online platforms.

Authorities said Johnson has ties to Macedonia 17th Street Baptist Church, where he volunteered as a youth pastor for more than a decade.
According to court documents, Johnson was arrested at an apartment during a “prostitution/possible human trafficking investigation.”
Johnson is accused of living off the earnings of an underage woman he helped engage in prostitution and selling nude content.
Johnson is being held on $500,000 bond under strict conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
