Donovan Mitchell believes in the Cleveland Cavaliers and has unwavering faith in his teammate.
Mitchell has nothing but high praise for Darius Garland after the young star’s hot start in 2024-25.
According to X’s DylanWDesign, via Legion Hoops , Mitchell talked about Garland and what’s next for him.
“I know it’s only 4 games into the season but he’s going to keep playing like that and I’d like everyone who said he can’t stay out there,” Mitchell said.

It’s good to see Mitchell supporting his teammate so much, and he has plenty of reasons to make this statement.
Through his first four games of the season, Garland is averaging 19.3 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists, shooting 54.7% from the field and 50% from the three-point line.
While most people see Mitchell as Cleveland’s leader, he actually took a step back in some ways and allowed Garland to command more of the team.
That approach was on full display Monday night when Garland scored 34 points against the New York Knicks, helping them to their fourth straight win of the young season.
Over the past few seasons, some Cavaliers fans have complained that there is no definitive roster spot for Garland.
With Mitchell’s arrival, his prominence in the team has waned a bit.
Plus, last season he suffered a serious injury and missed many games, putting his future with the team in doubt.
But Garland has been blowing everyone away so far this season, and Mitchell believes his streak has only just begun.
New head coach Kenny Atkinson is giving Garland more responsibilities, Mitchell is backing him up, and Cavaliers fans are very happy.
