In an effort to energize Clark County voters for Kamala Harris, her campaign has taken over the exterior of The Sphere, the giant ball of immersive entertainment on the Las Vegas Strip.
“This is the first time a political campaign has activated in the Exosphere,” the Harris-Waltz campaign said in a press release Tuesday. “Both in person and online, Sphere will reach millions of voters both in Nevada and across the country.”
He released a YouTube video showing the activation of the campaign ad at youtube.com/watch?v=SgpH1wEd2Tg.
Nevada is seen as a swing state in the presidential election as Harris tries to hold off former President Donald Trump, who has made gains in polls in the state. Republicans have a 40,000 vote lead over Democrats in early voter turnout. In Clark County alone, Democrats have cast about 3,000 more votes than Republicans so far.
The arena is owned by the Dolan family, which also owns Madison Square Garden in New York, where Trump held a large rally over the weekend.
On Thursday, Harris has rallies planned in Reno and Las Vegas, while Trump has one in Henderson.
The New York Times average poll shows Harris with a less than 1-point lead in Nevada, while The Hill’s presidential forecast gives Trump a 51 percent chance of winning the state.
