Madison, Wi (WSAU) – Residents are encouraged to nominate their favorite Burger restaurant for the Wisconsin Burger Competition.

The competition, promoted to the Beef Council in Wisconsin, is open to any local Wisconsin restaurant. Eligible burgers should be part of the regular menu of the restaurant and should contain 100% beef served on a bun or other bread product, such as tortillas or cookies.

The records will be adopted by March 21 on the Beef Council Website. The Beef Council will then name eight finalists.

The secret panel will visit all eight establishments to try the nominated burgers. Each of them will be appreciated in taste and appearance, which represents 80% of a burger result. The appropriate “day” will represent 10%, with the final 10% leaving the judge as a “general”.

Local restaurants are encouraged to promote the competition through signs and tents of tables.

Last year’s winner was Pickel’s bar and grill in Hazelhurst. They will be unacceptable to this year’s competition as restaurants can only win the award once.
