‘Today Show’ Highlights Baton Rouge as Top Fall Travel Destination – 225 Baton Rouge

Earlier this month, Travel expert Mark Ellwood joined the Today’s show to share her top travel destinations for fall.

Among his chosen ones? None other than Baton Rouge.

Specifically, Ellwood pointed to Red Stick’s not-too-cold, not-too-warm fall weather, as well as the LSU and Southern University football programs as the city’s main draws.

“If you’re even remotely interested in college football, you’re going to have fun,” Ellwood said.

Ellwood also suggested the Hotel Indigo in downtown Baton Rouge as a “wonderful” place to stay when visiting. The hotel recently celebrated the completion of a year-long renovation.

The other destinations highlighted by Ellwood are Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Greater Palm Springs, CA; Ottawa, Canada; and the Caribbean island of Bonaire.

Visit Baton Rouge last week expressed its excitement about the nod on social media.

“We are extremely excited to share the spotlight with four other amazing cities and are extremely proud to see our two iconic universities and the charming Hotel Indigo also receive a special welcome,” the travel agency wrote.
