Gas station attendant shoots accused shoplifter in Winston-Salem – AOL

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A gas station attendant shot and killed a man suspected of shoplifting Tuesday morning, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

Around 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, officers came to the Mobil gas station at 500 Akron Drive after receiving a report of a shooting.

At the scene, officers met with a gas station attendant who called 911.

Investigators say the clerk saw a man shoplifting and confronted him. Sometime after that, the clerk pulled out a gun and shot the suspected shoplifter outside the store.

After that, the accused thief left the crime scene.

Officers searched the area around the Mobile station and found the accused thief suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was charged with felony theft and declined to press charges in the shooting.
