Julian Edlow shares analysis of the most betting props for NBA players in DraftKings’ October 29 sportsbook.
This is a new article here on the DK Network to hopefully give bettors a behind-the-book look at the hottest NBA player bets of the night by ticket count. It shows which props bettors are most interested in for this set of games, and I’ll try to offer an analysis of why (or an analysis of why you should be wary). Please keep in mind that NBA betting is an ever-changing market and that news of injuries closer to the top could always take one of those players off the board or change other props that become more serious bets near the top.
Kyrie Irving OVER 21.5 points (-110)
Usually the public gets involved in this article, but not today. After a poor shooting night in Game 1 against the Spurs, Irving has crossed that mark in each of his last two games. However, Minnesota is good on defense and will be looking for revenge after the Western Conference Finals are over.
Anthony Edwards OVER 5.5 Rbs (-145)
Bettors are chasing a lot of Edwards overs as they expect the Ant Man to have a big game against the team that eliminated him from the postseason. Edwards is averaging 6.3 rebounds this season and has at least six in every game. He also surpassed that total in four of the five WCF games against Dallas.
Nikola Jokic OVER 7.5 assists (-140)
After dishing out a triple-double of 13 assists on opening night, Jokic has just eight total assists in the last two games combined. Denver hasn’t been playing good basketball, coming up short of its first win of the season in overtime Monday at Toronto. Tough matchup for the Nuggets here, traveling to Brooklyn, but bettors expect a rebound against a soft Brooklyn defense.
Anthony Edwards OVER 26.5 points (-120)
Same story here, with punters backing a big night for Edwards. He has surpassed that number in two of three games this season, but only two of five games in the WCF.
Michael Porter Jr. OVER 14.5 points (-120)
MPJ has surpassed that number just once this season, but with a bigger role on offense, bettors are backing him to find more opportunities against the Nets.
