A Lubbock man died after his car went off the road and crashed into a tree early Sunday.
Around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Aaron George, 24, was driving a 2011 Mazda CX9 SUV north on County Road 2800 between Municipal Drive and FM2641, northeast of Lubbock, when the vehicle left the roadway in the west ditch and overturned. collided with a tree, according to Texas Department of Public Safety officials.
George was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
The speed limit on the county road is 60 mph and conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
