RENO, Nev. (KOLO) — Amazon’s fulfillment center in Lemmon Valley will close next August.
In a statement, the company said that with the lease expiring, they have decided to cease operations in August 2025. Amazon says it has about 500 employees in downtown Reno.
They say they will move as many employees as possible to other facilities in Reno and help employees open up to moving to another city and staying with Amazon. The company also says it will provide a severance package, including severance, transitional health benefits and job search support.
Amazon says there will be no impact to customers in the Reno area.
The company currently has a south Reno location under construction that should open later next year.
