Hialeah police arrest two in separate shootings believed to target same victim – WPLG Local 10

HIALIA, FL – Police announced the arrests of two 22-year-old men Tuesday who they said are wanted in connection with the shooting of multiple firearms at two people in a Hialeah parking lot earlier this month. Authorities say the incident may be related to a separate shooting with the same victim in Miami.

According to the Hialeah Police Department, the arrest of Yosmani Yerondi Rodriguez Granados comes after an Oct. 1 shooting outside the Pura Vida Condominiums on West 16th Avenue.

Investigators said that around 7:45 p.m., the two victims exited the complex and walked to their parked car in a nearby parking lot on West 29th Street.

Moments after they entered their vehicle, a bystander, who police say was hiding in nearby hedges, flagged down Rodriguez Granados, who then drove his car to confront the victims.

According to detectives, Rodriguez Granados reached out the driver’s side window and fired multiple shots in the direction of the victims.

Authorities said bullets struck the hood of the victims’ vehicle, narrowly missing them.

Rodriguez Grenados and his accomplice, identified as Dagoberto Gonzalez, fled the scene immediately afterward, and authorities began an investigation using witness statements, video surveillance footage and cell data to track them down, according to the report.

Investigators say Tuesday’s arrest of Rodriguez Granados reveals additional ties to a Miami shooting where one of the same victims was targeted. Additional details about this shooting have not been released.

Hialeah police officers located Rodriguez Granados on Tuesday and arrested him without incident, authorities said.

At the time of the arrest, they said he was carrying a gun in his front pocket.

Authorities did not release the identities of the victims, but confirmed that Rodriguez refused to give a statement to investigators after his arrest.

Authorities in both Hialeah and Miami are cooperating on the cases, with investigators working to determine if the incidents were linked by motive or if the suspect has ties to other unsolved shootings in the area.

Additional charges are possible as Miami authorities conduct their own investigation into the earlier shooting with the same victim.

Jail records show Rodriguez Granados faces one count each of attempted first-degree murder with a deadly weapon, shooting or throwing a deadly missile and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.

They also show that Gonzalez is being held in an immigration jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm or deadly weapon.

As of Tuesday, both men remained at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where their relationship was listed as “pending determination.”

Local 10 News has requested a report on Gonzalez’s arrest.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
